CRP Technology adds another additive manufacturing composite to its TOP-LINE family

CRP Technology adds another additive manufacturing composite to its TOP-LINE family
In January, CRP Technology started the year with the launch of Windform® P2, a glass fibre reinforced thermoplastic polyamide material. The Italian producer continues its material developments with the launch of Windform® FR2, another composite material from the TOP-LINE family compatible with SLS technology.

Unveiled in July 2019, Windform® FR1 is a carbon fibre-reinforced flame retardant material that is similar to the company's new material in terms of flammability.

The main differences between the two materials are their properties: Windform® FR1 is carbon fibre reinforced and dark grey in colour.
Windform® FR2, on the other hand, is glass-fibre reinforced, off-white and electrically insulating. In addition, this product is a halogen-free polyamide-based material, which combines exceptional wear resistance with good temperature resistance. It allows for precise parts with a smoother surface finish than Windform® FR1.

The producer has performed the FAR 25.853 flammability tests of 12 seconds vertical and 15 seconds horizontal, as well as the 45° Bunsen burner test and the smoke density test, which proved to be successful. [Read more]
