What is the need/problem expressed?

For 30 years, Biotech Dental has been a leader in the dental field and has built a reputation as an innovative manufacturer of quality dental implants. Today, the only company in the world to use digital data flow and 3D printing (combined with other processes such as milling) to manufacture 100% of its dental prostheses, the French company has developed a complete digital process. This allows it to offer its customers - dentists and laboratories - local, easy-to-use solutions, high-end products and attractive prices. To maintain this advantage, the company continues to rely on technological innovation and was looking to further accelerate the manufacture of cast dental implants and reduce costs.

Why was Additive Manufacturing technology considered?

At Biotech Dental, the use of 3D for the manufacture of prostheses (excluding implants and screws) is first and foremost a company "philosophy" which aims to provide customers and their patients with optimised reactivity and quality, and controlled costs. The challenge is to make available a tailor-made product that is adjusted as closely as possible to the patient's comfort.
