Deciduous, a 3D printed pavilion with 30,000 recycled plastic bottles
One of the biggest trends in 3D printing in 2019 has been the use of 3D technologies to create sustainable and eco-friendly projects. Architecture studio MEAN (Middle East Architecture Network) is following suit with its latest project, Deciduous, a pavilion created with additive manufacturing technologies by reusing 30,000 plastic water bottles.

The pavilion is on display at the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) and its main objective is to invite visitors to reflect on the nature and generation of today's increasing waste.

The reuse of materials within architecture is not a new concept; we have seen it in projects such as Emerging Objects and its hut, or with the GAIA house by Italian builder WASP.
