Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick funds Habitas, a 3D printed hotel start-up
Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick is joining other investors to fund the expansion of 3D printed hotel concept Habitas. In addition to Kalanick, the other investors are Tim Steiner, CEO of online supermarket Ocado, Justin Mateen, co-founder of Tinder, and Div Turakhia, an Indian technology billionaire.
Founded in 2014 by Oliver Ripley, Kfir Levy and Eduardo Castillo, the start-up has raised $20m to take the idea of 3D printed hotels to new markets in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

The idea that brings Habitas to life comes from the Burning Man desert arts festival, where Ripley built a camp for VIP participants. [Read more]
